Who doesn't love to win?

Believe it or not, I do offer sessions that don't include tutus, pregnant tummies or newborn babies - as much as I adore all 3 of those things I also have a love for family sessions. As a mom of 2 children who were born quite close to one another I absolutely understand the desire a mother (and father!) has for a family photo - just one that has everyone looking semi decent and with any luck looking at the camera all at the same time.
When my children were 1 and 2.5 we took on the task of doing a family photo with the help of my amazing sister Marissa - she would be my stand in, I would get it all set-up and then we would switch. I just wanted that one "perfect" (ha ha) photo - well, 286 photos later we ended up with this:
And even to this day I absolutely love it for so many reasons. My daughter's not looking at the camera (she didn't the entire time we were out there - ha ha!), my son is sunken down, hands in mouth and if you look closely my husband and I have that look in our eyes of "oh boy. What did we do?!?" But I love it because this was us at that moment in time - it summed up our life at that point in time so well - the cute chaos of having 2 small children. It's a photo that will always remind us of a hectic time in our lives - and that we really did survive having "2 under 2". That experience is what has really firmed up my belief that it's not always about the "perfect" family photo - it's about capturing "right now", how life is in the moment. The moment might be the ever changing mood of an 18 month old or the self-conscious steps of a newly walking child. It could be an exchange between two siblings or the hug of a husband and wife - I love it all.
What about winning you're asking? Well - there is a wonderful site (www.saskmom.com) who is right now, at this very moment (until April 30 I believe) giving away a FREE 2010 outdoor session from myself WITH a free 11x14 canvas - all you have to do is enter on the site - so easy! And as a bonus if you're a "fan/like" on my fan page you can enter a second time - pretty awesome!
Come and enjoy the experience with me - it is painless, I promise. An outdoor session in beautiful Saskatoon offers so much more relaxation and fun, it's a great mix between the more formal "posed" photos and just a great photographic study on life as it is at this moment.
To book you session please visit my website and use the contact form located at the top of the page.
I look forward to all of the great memories to come!
