That Time ~See Shel's Photography~

Every now and again I like to remind myself what it's like to be on the other side and the emotions my clients go through while preparing for a family session. The pure joy of convincing your 4 year old daughter to not mess her hair up in the 15 minutes before you leave. The wonderful fun of reminding your 3 year old son to please not drink the purple kool-aid as he wears his new nice white shirt and vest.
The awesome time reminding your husband of how much fun this family bonding moment will be.
Then to top it all off the thrill of getting yourself looking just spectacular and reminding yourself this is supposed to be fun. ;)
I actually split my family's session over 2 days (I know the photographer - she's quite nice and accommodating) - my children are super wonderful and terrific listeners but the fun of having a mom who is a photographer has worn off.
BUT - I can say this was hands down the easiest year so far, everyone was finally old enough to understand "look at the camera! The quicker we do this the sooner we can go play". So we did the family shot one day (and then re-did it the next, LOL!) and the kid's photos the next day.
We did it, we survived and I can once again say I really, honestly do understand the emotions behind everyone getting ready and looking pretty. ;)
