2013 Holiday Sessions

As with previous years I will be holding Christmas mini-sessions - these are held in my studio, this year will hold a choice of a white backdrop or buttercream, with Christmas props (sleigh, presents, etc.) They are quick and fun, lasting 20 minutes and resulting in 6-8 colour photos - perfect for your holiday card! We aim for a family photo, children together and children separately. 

We've had a tonne of fun over the past few years and I can't wait again for this year -- I've got a few fun ideas ready to go! This is the only time during the year I offer mini-sessions for the whole family, so they do book up very quickly! After these dates are fully booked I will start a cancellation list for those interested.

In studio holiday mini-sessions are $165 +pst and include:

      * session fee for immediate family members

      * online password protected album

      * full resolution files of final edited photos on a disc for your printing and archiving needs

      * 4x6 print set of the final photos

      * 25 double sided 5x7 or 5x7 customized holiday cards with envelopes!

Summer Memories ~See Shel's Photography - Saskatoon Photographer~

Happy Summer! As the camping, playgrounding, sleeping inning and lazy days start to fade away we are left with numerous images from the memories we have created with our families -- now what to do with them?

Don't answer "I'll get to it" - because we all know how that goes. (have you printed last years photos at all?) I have a confession - I didn't print my photos for a long time - it is overwhelming! Gone are the days of snapping one roll of film over the course of several days or events, now my children playing play do requires a good 50-75 frames. (oh boy I may have a problem!)

Fun family memories!

To get over my mama guilt of not printing everything (and really, there's enough things that come with being a mom, printing photos should be a fun task and not another guilt ridden" should have") I now print a yearbook, picking my favourites - this has turned into one of our most favourite things! We are all excited when the new book comes and we have a new tradition of looking through them all on January 1 morning with hot chocolate :)

The best part about this project? There are NO rules! NONE. Let go now. There does not have to be a defined outline or anything - This can be as simple or intense as you like, but keep the end prize in mind -- memories to sit and share together! I include photos from everything - planned sessions, my point and shoot, every day moments and iphone photos.

Hat! ~See Shel's Photography - saskatoon photographer~

The biggest hurdle in my monkey sessions was the hat --- but I had a plan of attack ;)  Get the hat on and DISTRACT! Which was good.... until we added a tutu -- good news was most monkeys forgot about the hat once the tutu was on, but then --- the tutu was a whole other issue ;)  Good news about the tutu was it stopped any would be crawlers in their track as they couldn't quite figure out their new situation -- then add a quick distraction and voila! A hatted, tutued, super cute monkey!

This little gal was a hoot! She was one of the only ones to successfully remove her hat towards the end :)
